
Deputy Minister for Regional Development Research and Extension
Basic background
Hon. George Tee Forpoh, PhD (fellow) was born unto the union of the late Teacher, George Tee Forpoh, Sr. and Teacher, Madam Eva Kwene Warner-Forpoh on September 22, 1963 in Kanweaken City, then Grand Gedeh County.
Education
As both of his patents were teachers, he obtained basic early primary education at the Kanweaken Elementary School, Kanweaken, then Grand Gedeh County and later moved to the William V. S. Tubman High School, 12th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia where he graduated in 1884. He process as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Economics at the prestigious Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, East Africa with Research interest focused on the “Management of Conflict over the Trans – Border Natural Resources in the Mano River Basin”. earlier he obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) 2012 with emphasis in Local Government Development Administration, Cuttington University Graduate School of Professional Studies, Monrovia, Liberia. He recently concluded a Master of Science (MSc.) 2021 in Project Management with emphasis in Monitoring and Evaluation at the Christian Service University College, Kumasi, Ghana and has earlier study a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Extension (BSc.) 1997, Obafemi Awolowo University, ILE – IFE, Osun State, Nigeria.
Work Experience
The appointment of Honorable Forpoh (PhD Fellow) as Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Research and Extension, (REDRE) draws on his closed to thirty years of work experiences from various Government (GoL) and International Non–Governmental Organizations (INGOs), to include: Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Ministry of Youth and Sports NICEF funded post), Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, Compliance and Reporting UNDP, Deputy Chief of Party, Liberia Strategy Analysis, USAID funded project, He has worked with several projects funded by World Bank (WB), African Development Bank (AfDP), and European Union (EU). He has also worked for the United Nations Common Systems (WFP) as a Head of Sub Office, Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, (UNICEF) Lead National Consultant on the SiTan 2015, United Nations Mission in Liberia (UMIL) as the National Program Officer for Humanitarian Coordination – level NOC - 6,etc.

Dr. Forpoh is a member of several professional bodies infra: = Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA); = American Evaluation Association (AEA); = Ghana Monitoring and Evaluation Forum (GMEF); = Linkin, Professional Development Platform for the Exchange of knowledge / Ideas; = South African Evaluation Association; = Eldis Community Results Based Evaluation; = Liberia Evaluation Association (Founding member). Prior his preferment by His Excellency Dr. George Manner Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Forpoh owned and ran the Participatory Development Associates (PDA) consultancy firm. A private development consultancy firm which has done several development researches for programs and / or projects (baseline, midterm, end line, impact evaluations and strategic planning in the region as well as conducted system strengthening reviews) just to mentioned a few in the south region.
Key Consultancy Achievements
Dr. Forpoh was one of seven consultants from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region that developed the ECOWAS Monitoring & Evaluation Strategy (Abuja, Nigeria 2012) and under an ECOWAS consultancy, Dr. Forpoh also conducted the M&E ToT for eighty (80) M&E Specialists in Liberia and Sierra Leone (2013). Moreover, he was also one of three Consultants that developed the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA) Monitoring and Evaluation strategy, modules and conducted the ToT for the LIPA’s M&E trainers (2012).
Community Development
Dr. Forpoh has a track records of capacities development of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Farmers Based Organizations, (FBOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). He also has demonstrated experience and expertise in the promotion, support, training and development of cooperatives. Also, Dr. Forpoh experience include but not limited to working with local authorities, chiefs, youths and women groups, minority groups and physically challenged.
Publications
Dr. Forpoh has contributed to book chapters, presented number of papers on trending national, regional and international issues and has written several peer review papers.
Religious Affiliation
Dr. Forpoh is a devoted Christian and currently serves as the Dean of the Deacon Board - Church of God in Christ Liberia Jurisdiction and is married to beauty Madam Hannah Moncon Farr-Forpoh (Chairperson Department of General Agriculture and Animal Science, William V. S. Tubman University, Harper City Maryland, Republic of Liberia). The union is blessed with eleven children.
