Deputy Minister for Technical Services
Madam Andrews (born on May 13, 1983) is currently a PHD candidate in Veterinary Epidemiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zambia. She holds two Masters of Science degrees in Veterinary Epidemiology & Economics and Rangeland Resources & Management from the University of Nairobi and University of Namibia respectively. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cuttington University in Suakoko, Bong County. She obtained her senior secondary school diploma and West African Examination Council (WAEC) Certificate from St. Teresa’s Convent in Monrovia, Liberia. Additionally, Miss Andrews has attended and completed over thirty-seven (37) seminars, workshops and trainings.
Madam Andrews has over thirteen (13) years of work experience in both the Government and non-government sectors. Prior to assuming the office of the deputy Minister for Techncial Services, she served as Consultant for the World Bank Funded Health Portfolio where she plays the role as Animal Health Special & Liaison Officer, a position she served for nearly three years under the Regional Disease Surveillance Systems Enhancement (REDISSE-II) and the Liberia COVID-19 Emergency Response projects. She previously worked for United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) as National Project Coordinator/National Epidemiologist for a period of four (4) years, working directly for the Emergency Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD). Additionally, Miss Andrews worked at the Ministry of Agriculture in various positions including Fishery Officer, Range Management Specialist, and Epidemiologist.
Miss Andrews has multiple years of relevant experience in animal health activities and extensive knowledge on veterinary epidemiology (surveys, tools and investigations) of tropical livestock diseases. Added advantage is my extensive knowledge of the main aspects of prevention and control of high impact emerging and re-emerging zoonotic and non-zoonotic diseases coupled with an extensive experience in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of surveillance networks of animal diseases.
