Technical Services Department

The Department of Technical Services at the Ministry of Agriculture is responsible for providing technical information and support for all agricultural production entities and users within the confines of Liberia. The Department accumulates, synthesizes and evaluates technical information for applicability and adoption to Liberian farm conditions and packages them for dissemination through the Department of Regional Development, Research and Extension.  It also has technical oversight responsibility to the Central Agriculture Research Institute (CARI) and the Bureau of National Fisheries (BNF).  The Department has been involved in program planning and ministerial representation of these Agencies and the Government of Liberia within sub-regional meetings and conferences since its establishment in 1950.

The Department is headed by Deputy Minister, Hon. Solomon C. Hedd-Williams and Assistant Minister, Hon. Zogbo Luther.
The various divisions are headed by Directors.

• Land Development and Water Resources Division

• Crop Resources (Plant) Division

• Animal Resources (Livestock) Division

• National Plant and Animal Quarantine and Environmental Services Division
