(Monrovia, October 9, 2020) The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) of the Republic of Liberia extends hearty congratulations to the United Nations food assistance agency, the World Food Programme (WFP), one of its major multilateral partners, for winning the prestigious 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. “This is a welcoming news for all stakeholders in the agriculture sector not just in Liberia, but the world at large”, Minister Jeanine Milly Cooper said. WFP has been working with the MOA in the provision of technical support and other services to enhance the Ministry's institutional capacity. A fortnight ago, WFP provided some IT equipment and a teleconferencing facility to the MOA to enhance its communications and coordination with agriculture stakeholders.
