MOA Brings In Pesticides For Farmers To Protect Food Crops

Monrovia, November 19, 2020):- The Ministry of Agriculture ( MOA) has brought in the first of five consignments of easy-to-use insecticides and fungicides to protect food crops against insects infestations and fungus.

They are part of agriculture inputs procured under the Government of Liberia's COVID 19 Food Security, Nutrition and Livelihood Plan which the MOA prepared in April and immediately got donors endorsement.

Agriculture Minister Jeanine Milly Cooper said, "Our farmers face pests infestations on farms and crops diseases every farming season; and for this reason, His Excellency President George Manneh Weah has been very concerned and instructed the MOA to address all critical plights Liberian farmers face"

The pesticides will be distributed to farmers and farming groups through a MOA's County Agriculture Officers.
Liberian farmers are continuously constraint from getting high outputs from their farms due to insects eating up crops and fungus diseases damaging plants.
