The main objectives of the mission were to review progress of implementation of WAAPP since the April 2015 mission, to review the project status to date, closely monitor the quick impact seed program in Liberia and develop  roadmap on Phase one closure of WAAPP 1C  and the formulation of WAAPP 2C project document, assess the Seed system of Liberia and develop a roadmap for improvement.  

 

The Implementation Support Mission focused on: (i) status of implementation of agreed actions from the previous mission as well as the status of implementation of annual work plan and budget (AWP&B);(ii) implementation of the Quick impact Seed program; (iii) developing a roadmap for a sustainable seed system for Liberia.; (iv) preparing a roadmap for the closure of WAAPP 1C and  the formulation of WAAPP 2C; (v) project coordination, management, monitoring and evaluation including communication of project results to stakeholders; and (vi) procurement and financial management as well as compliance to agreed covenants and environmental and social safeguards. 

 

The mission expresses its appreciation for the assistance provided by the Government of Liberia, the Coordination Unit, all the project implementing agencies, and the numerous stakeholders who took time off their busy schedules to meet and interact with the team. Click for Full Story
