[Vienna, Austria – September 15, 2025] – Agriculture Minister Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah is leading a delegation to the 69th Regular Session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference, which takes place September 15–19, 2025, at the Vienna International Center.

The conference brings together delegates from 180 Member States to review the IAEA’s annual report, budget, and safeguards, while promoting peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology.

Dr. Nuetah, accompanied by EPA Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo and Ambassador Younger Telewodah, is representing Liberia in high-level engagements. Key highlights include a courtesy visit to IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and the signing of Liberia’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) 2026–2030, which will guide IAEA support in agriculture, health, and environmental protection.

On September 15, Dr. Nuetah held discussions with Ms. Feng Dongxin, Director of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture, reaching an agreement to enhance collaboration on crops and livestock.

Dr. Nuetah will also participate in the GC69 side event, “Advancing Food Security in Africa through the Atoms4Food Initiative,” and hold technical discussions with IAEA departments to expand cooperation.
