For so long, Liberia's agroforestry potentials and concerns of farmers have not been heard on international scenes: and now, they are being heard globally under the administration of His Excellency President George M. Weah.

The narratives about Liberia's agroforestry had been frightful, but many outside there do not know Liberia holds close to half of the remaining dense tracts of forests in West Africa, serving as a critical chamber in the third lung of the world.

Liberia is the sub-region’s most important carbon sink and these are facts clearly visible to the naked eye and on any satellite imagery you can find.

At the invitation of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Jeanine M. Cooper, on Saturday November 6, put forth the Sweet Land of Liberty’s case at a FACT Dialogue moderated by former British Prime Minister [July 2016-July 2019] Theresa May, at the ongoing COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The FACT (Forest, Agriculture and Commodity Trade) Dialogue is aimed to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable land-use practices in a way that opens up new opportunities for investment, for jobs and livelihoods in forests, land use and agriculture.

It also ensures that the economies which have a sustainable relationship with forests are the ones that thrive and grow.
