Ministry of Agriculture Liberia Refutes False Grant Fund Approval Letter
Monrovia, Liberia - March 4, 2024 - The Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Liberia, strongly denounces the dissemination of fraudulent information purportedly originating from our office regarding grant funds for farming/agribusiness programs. The document, bearing reference number EGFA-LB/M0A388134, falsely represents our ministry and aims to deceive Liberian farmers, tarnishing the esteemed reputation of Agriculture Minister Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah.
The Ministry of Agriculture assures all farmers and the general public of its unwavering commitment to transparency and credibility in all its operations. We categorically state that the mentioned grant fund approval letter is a fabrication intended to scam Liberian farmers and undermine the genuine efforts of our ministry to bolster the agricultural sector in line with President Joseph N. Boakai’s vision.
It is imperative to note that all official communications from the Ministry of Agriculture are transparently shared through our official channels, including our website (www.moa.gov.lr) and local and national radio stations across the country. Any communication deviating from these established platforms should be treated with skepticism and reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Agriculture reiterates that we do not engage in soliciting funds or requiring accreditation from any external organization, as falsely stated in the fraudulent letter. We urge all farmers and stakeholders to remain vigilant against such deceitful schemes and refrain from providing any personal or financial information in response to such fraudulent communications.
Furthermore, we urge the public to disregard any directives contained in the fraudulent letter, particularly those pertaining to contacting the purported Global Farmers Association (G.F.A) for accreditation. The Ministry of Agriculture does not endorse nor require accreditation from any external organization for grant funding purposes.
We are actively investigating the source of this misinformation and will take appropriate legal action against those responsible for disseminating false information and attempting to defraud our farmers and stakeholders.
